Welcome to Alberta woodchoppers. We offer a range of tree services and firewood products. Our specialty is the safe removal of difficult trees which require climbing and rigging to prevent damage to nearby obstacles.
We also provide firewood year round. We sell firewood by the face cord, or cord (185 cubic feet, loose). You can choose to pick up firewood from our rural homesite/woodyard, or we can deliver.
Hand peeled Tamarack Fence Posts available, starting at $9 per post. call for a full price list. Fence Posts made of Tamarack are naturally rot resistant.
We are located near Hoadley, Alberta, which is approximately 20 min north of Rimbey, AB. Our service area includes Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Bentley, Rimbey, Ponoka, Wetaskiwin, Hoadley, Winfield, Drayton Valley, Eckville, and everything in between.

Firewood prices listed below are based on pick up, delivery fees are extra.
Poplar firewood
Poplar is a great choice of wood to burn for those long nights with a big fire. It is our most economical wood we sell due to its abundance. Many people think it is not safe to burn poplar indoors, this is not true as long as the wood is properly dryed. In fact, we heat our home mostly with poplar. A cord of Poplar contains 14.7 Million BTUs per cord.

Spruce/Pine Firewood
Spruce and Pine is a nice clean burning wood that gives a great aroma. It gives off great heat as it burns slightly hotter then Poplar, but not as hot as Tamarack. A cord of Spruce contains 15.9 Million BTUs.

Tamarack Firewood
Tamarack is known as a premium firewood. It burns hot and long with less smoke and ash. It is a great choice for indoor burning as it provides great heat. A cord of Tamarack contains 20.8 Million BTUs.
